With the Master Gardener pack, I started strawberry seeds. They are gorgeous. The plants take a while to produce, but almost all of the seeds have so far sprouted into lush, green plants. Since strawberries usually take two seasons to produce, I am happy to see so much progress in about two months time.

I am 16 years old and big into gardening and have even won awards for traditional gardening. When I first saw this product I wanted it in the worst way ever. My parents bought me one for Christmas two years ago and i havent stopped using it yet. I have it in my bedroom and love it. I have grown herbs, flowers, tomatoes and even some of my own custom things. It is very quite while it runs and the light is great because I never have to turn a light on in my room. Also it has helped me revive some tropicals that did'nt get enough light. I love getting fresh herbs, and vegies durring the winter and having beautfull displays of flowers in the summer. The product is a great way to brinh freshness to you cooking or a splash of color to a dull and boring room, or season. It has so many colors and options to match anyones house or personality, and makes a great gift. Finnaly the customer service of this company is awsome!! They really do garentee there pods to grow and will relpace them with no trouble. This easy and fun to use aero garden will not only reward you with wonderfull crops but will also give you a beautifull effortless garden. I love it so much I want another one!!

This was my first AeroGarden and I love it. It was easy to set up and start growing right out of the box. Instructions are clear and if you need help with setup or the plants, the customer support from AeroGrow is fantastic. The extra height on the extension arm and the 3rd bulb allows for growing more types of plans than the "standard" gardens. I, however, don't think that the Heirloom Tomato kit that came with the garden is a good seed kit for beginners. If you are new to hydroponics and this will be your first AeroGarden, you may want to start with growing something that's easier, like herbs or lettuce. Buy this unit for sure, but get an extra seed kit to ease you in. Tomatoes can be fickle.

I've had my AeroGarden 6 for just over a month, and have already had to raise the light twice; the tall herbs are growing by leaps and bounds and we can scarcely use them quickly enough. Our mint and chives are still coming along slowly, but look healthy. This is practically a set-it-and-forget-it appliance: I found myself wanting to fuss over it but had nothing to do; you just periodically add distilled water and nutrient tablets as you are signaled to do and the Aerogarden does everything else. But having the full-spectrum bulbs and growing plants in my north-facing kitchen is particularly cheering in midwinter, and the surrounding plants love it too- a dormant orchid has rebloomed with many flowers and my once-scraggly rosemary topiary is now lush and full, just sitting on the same shelf as the Aerogarden- amazing transformations in a relatively short time. If I can find some more shelf space I would love to get another Aerogarden for flowers or tomatoes. It may seem like a novelty item, but if you cook regularly with fresh herbs (or enjoy adding them to teas and salads), this is a nice appliance to have- I believe in the long run it will save money over the little $3 packages of herbs at the grocery that go bad after a few days in the refrigerator.

Heck I love these machines. I have 3 set up in my house right now. The herbs are nice, but the real selling point is the salad kits. They provide salad everday for a family of four for about 5 months. I set up a self and use the spaces between the machines to grow other plants in my house. If there is a negative I would have to say its hard to keep up with the plants. They grow so fast you have to keep cutting them down before they reach the lights.

My fiance has been asking for this product for years. I got it, set it up, and presented it to him with sprouts. We are enjoying checking the growth. I only grew 3 out of 6 pods out of fear of failing, but my 3 herbs are coming in fine. It is really nice to know exactly where my food is coming from. It's a great conversational piece and makes people think I'm really into fresh herbs even though I secretly would love a tortilla chip aerogarden.

I purchased both the Aerogarden 6 and the Veggie Pro and planted them both at the same time. All 6 of my herbs and both of the heirloom tomatoes are growing extremely well. While the black VeggiePro isn't as classy looking as the Aerogarden6 White, it does have the advantage of being able to raise the light up higher, allowing bigger plants. If I had one complaint, it would be that the hood is too high above the plants in the beginning. I thoroughly enjoy both of my Aerogardens.

I own several Gardens. My adult children were quite attracted to them over the holidays, so I bought a 6-pod for each of them immediately after the holidays.
Each came with Herbs - standard - and so had to purchase the seed kits that each of my children wanted - bringing the price up. It would be nice if the purchaser could choose a seed kit to go with their garden.
And it would be nice if the rebate coupons were sent out in a timely manner - and if they weren't alredy expired when they are sent several months late.

I had tried growing broccoli in soil and it had very slow growth, but then I tried it in the Aerogarden, and it exploded with growth. I had to take it out because it was growing so quickly.

I also got seed kits, and they are all doing awesome. This is definitely the best way to grow herbs and veggies in your house.

I currently grow herbs and the basil plant I got with the seed kit has grown like crazy!! I have had to raise the hood twice in the last week because of the size of the basil. The other herbs are growing fine, but not at the same rate - the dill has been a slow-grower. I was able to cook a basil chicken meal by week 3. We could tell the difference between the fresh and store bought immediately. Also put in a crock pot for roast simply amazing and I love that I only have to use what I need at the time without extra being wasted.

I received this for Christmas from my husband and set it up that weekend. I've already had to raise the arm and prune my mega cherry tomato plants twice. I'm expecting tomatoes any day!! It's so easy to maintain and I've been amazed at the rapid growth. The produce available in Northeastern Wyoming grocery stores leaves alot to be desired, and I can't wait to enjoy freshly picked, home grown, herbs and vegetables. Great product. Have had mine for over a month and the tomato plants are about a foot tall and look teriffic. I was given the Aero3 as a Christmas by my Mom, for my Bhut Jolokia pepper plants (Ghost Peppers). Every year I'll use 10-12 half egg shells in my window as starters for my pepper plants hoping 2 or 3 make it, because of the difficulty in growing them.

By the time I got the Aero3 I already had 2 plants at about 2.5-3 inches and in pots, so I was going to use the Aero3 simply for the light fixture.

I had forgotten that I dumped the soil from the other eggs in the pots with the two plants. Within two weeks I went from having 2 plants growing to 6.

I just transferred 3 of the seedlings to the sponge setup as the unit was intended to be used and they are doing awesome.

I've been able to grow 3 times the amount, as I usually get in years past, with a much quicker growth rate. Great product especially for difficult plants that need a lot of attention and care. Will be buying a second unit within the next day or two, probably upgrading to the Aero6.

I got my Aerogarden 6 elite as a Christmas present. In just a few days, little seedlings shot up. The kids love to lift up lid where you add water and nutrients to see the workings of the garden and the roots developing. My 5 year old loves to toss clippings from the herbs into the herb and serve to make salad dressing. Fun family project. We love it. It's just beautiful and works well.

I love, love, love the aerogarden. I live in the woods and do not have enough natural light to grow my own herbs outside. My 8 & 10 year olds enjoy watching the plants grow and I have gotten them to try lots of new foods since we cook with the herbs we grow. I've also grown the salad greens and gotten my picky eaters to learn to like salads!!

The only negative aspect for me is the purchasing of bottled water for the garden. I have a very high iron content to my well water and am afraid the sediment would ruin the pump. I've had my garden over a year and this year I purchased 3 of the small 3 pod gardens and one classic as Christmas presents. I will most likely use aerogardens as gifts again this coming year.

This is the 2nd herb kit I have bought. Each time the chives have not grown. Ive used the 7-pod and the 6-pod. Have had trouble with my 7-pod (filter, water-level lights). Other that that, have been happy with product.

I bought a total of three aerogardens for my wife for Christmas. She had them all set up in record speed. Two days later the Thyme was popping up, and within 4 days I had to take the clear lid off. All of my herbs are growing great. The nice stainless steel design matches all of my kitchen appliances (stove, frigerator, etc...). I have many friends that are cooks, and I plan on telling them all to get one, two or as many as they can. I would love to have an entire garden of these. No reason to go outside in the heat/cold.

My wife lamented the fact that I would have to trash her potted herb garden when we had our first frost of the season. I started up my AeroGardens 1 week ago today. I planted tomatoes in one and salad greens in the other. Day 2 I had sprouts up above the pod covers on the salad greens and Day 3 on the tomatoes. I check the plants when I leave in morning and then when I get home at night. I can actually tell they have grown in 9 hours! I am thinking of getting one of these for my niece for Christmas! i almost died in 3wks.of icu unit then i went too 2 nursing homes and i finally got home. i have breast cancer stage4 and at the time there was not much i could do. so my daughter got me my first aero-garden and we put flower seeds in and i could watch for flowers and then they came in beautiful. now i have a 6pod deluxe which grows basil and 1 tomatoes plans.the other 2 i bought were 3pod ones and right now as we talk i have a tomatoe growing and my last aero-garden i will plant flowers in the other one i have salad greens which is ready to cut again, i am going to make alittle pesto with my basil. the aero-garden gave me happy spirits and got me going with life again. i am very thankful for aerogardens it is most helpful to me in living longer thanks so much maria giannattasio

I immediately loved the design when I took it out of the box. After the set up, there is nothing to do except make sure the water level is at the appropriate setting and add the nutrients on schedule. So far, I have only grown salad greens which are so full of flavor. My favorite use of them is putting them in my juicer for a tangy immune boosting drink.
My next batch will be tomatoes, herb teas, and edible flowers. Yum!!!

My children gave this to me for my birthday last year. It works great. I've had the herbs, lettuce and cascading petunias. Although, the petunias were for the Aero 7. It worked in my Aero 6, just had to keep water level high. The petunias have been blooming (20 blooms at a time) since June, 6 months. I would recommend this to anyone that likes to cook with fresh herb or just loves beautiful flowers.

I just unpacked this and set it up in just a few minutes. I sure hope the tomatoes grow as described because I simply will not eat store bought tomatoes in the winter...they might as well spray paint wax as far as I am concerned.

I got my first AeroGarden for Christmas 2008. I now have eleven. I have 3 AeroGarden 6 Elite +, A Pro-200, A Classic, 2 AeroGarden 6 Elite, 3 AeroGarden 3, and 1 Space Saver 6 Elite. Needless to say, I LOVE AeroGardens!

Being "disabled", I have my AeroGardens set up on coffee and end tables around my living room. I am no longer able to get outside and garden, because of being in a wheelchair. The AeroGardens give me the ability to pursue my love of gardening, without putting the strain on my body, that an "outside garden" would.

I use my gardens for growing positively EVERYTHING. I grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers. I have used the AeroGarden seed kits, and I've also used the Master Gardener kits, with my own seeds. Both have given equally sucessful results.

The only question I have really had about my AeroGardens is: "Why didn't I do this sooner?"

We bought this for Christmas, and now it is July and we are still getting tomatoes. Our plants look bigger and have more fruit than the picture in the web site. (I used a bent clothes hanger to support the plants when they grew so big.)

We debated as to getting the extended growing tablets, but decided to try some herbs instead. We stopped putting the tablets in and the plants have not died yet, there are still tomatoes growing on the plant. I think that when the new seeds arrive, I will just throw out the tomato plants.

The Aerogrow works better than our expectations.

Started with a Space Saver6 as Christmas gift, given a Aero3 2 months later for birthday. Later in month got this one on sale in store. Have everything growing. Other systems, like prepara are fine, but you have to buy separate lights. There're good if you want to do everything yourself, but the Aerogardens come with it all.

I had my AeroGarden Elite Plus since April 09 i planted the green beens jumped the gun and took them out and,planted the romaine lettuce,and did the same thang again because i was not patience enough i planted the Mega Cherry tomatoes and they are doing very well i'm really impressed with my AeroGarden elite+ you have to be patient

Great product for growing flowers, but beware if growing plants for food! I grew salad greens in the Aerogarden 6, following directions exactly, and they grew beautifully. But after eating them, I got not just a regular migraine, but a horrendous migraine that lasted for 3 days. I am sensitive to MSG and other artificial glutamates, as well as added hormones, so I suspect that these have been added to the "nutrient" pill that the plants receive.

I think the company should let you know what is in the nutrients so that you can avoid ingesting it if you know you could have a reaction. I'm going to still try to grow food in the Aerogarden using a natural organic fertilizer, but until then, I'm only growing flowers now.

My first crop of herbs was amazing! After planting I watched each day for the seeds to sprout. Each pod gave an estimated sprout time, and each one was dead on. From there, my herb garden seemed to grow in leaps and bounds. Every meal I have prepared contained aromatic fresh herbs. My family is spoiled! My next crop - cherry tomatoes! Can't wait.

You won't grab the bag of chips anymore. Ripe cherry tomatoes are sweet, juicy, crunchy on the outside, and oh so healthy. I have a hard time leaving any for my salad! The crop is plentiful but I could eat more!

This product is great, particularly throughout the winter months, when very little will grow outdoors, even under greenhouse cloth. To be able to have fresh herbs, in plentiful supply, all year long is a joy. I even got my boss to buy one. You do have to be patient and not begin culling extensively too soon. But once the plants are big enough for harvesting (for me, only around 4-5 weeks!) you an barely keep up with the growth!

Excellent product. Have already recommended it to many others and will continue to do so.

My basil is growing wild! We have to eat faster! I get enough herbs to use on a daily basis from all of the plants.
It's a neat looking unit - a conversation starter. Everyone who sees it comments on it.
I like to chop some off every day and eat it on top of whatever we have that day. Herbs are great antioxidants.
And I like that I can grow my own herbs in Fairbanks, Alaska when it's minus 60 degrees below zero and the sun is gone for months!

I grow potted herbs during the spring/summer and have tried in the past to bring them inside for the winter. The mess was just to much (at least for me). I received the AeroGarden 6 Elite w/Gourmet Herb Seed Kit as a Christmas present and have been delighted by it. It was simple to setup and grow the herbs that came with it. No mess and no need to water every day. It's great to have fresh winter herbs. Plan to grow flowers for the wife in the summer :). If you want no muss/no fuss indoor herbs/flowers/whatever the AeroGarden certainly delivers.

I have been looking at this item for quite some time and I finally broke down and bought one. I am very happy I made the right choice. My herb garden is about 3 weeks old and I enjoy watching the little plants thrive. Doesn't matter how old you are, you still get enjoyment out of watching the plants grow. This unit tells you when to water, when to add the nutrients and it couldn't be easier. Buy one, you won't be disappoined.

My herbs have been growing since December 25, 2008. I enjoy everything about it. I am so amazed at how the herbs continue growing from just one pod. I have tried for years to grow herbs indoors, with no success. I'm now able to incorporate my herbs into everyday cooking. I can find so many meals to add the herbs to while using less salt.

I am a college student and received this as a Christmas gift. Its been 4 months now and I am still on my herbs, its great, just can't wait to start growing some peppers. I even have a small kitchen and have no problems what so ever with my AeroGarden. I think its a great gift for anyone that enjoys cooking, and it really does work believe me it does, you barely have to do anything to make your plants grow.

Only thing I would wish for is a longer telescoping light my basil grows to much and too quickly, but its okay I just get use basil frivolously... Buy It Trust Me Its Worth It!

The ongoing inconstancy in food safety along with cutting costs and a want for minimal time brought my researching to this product. (hate bugs too!) Herbs were easy, tablets every 2 weeks and snipping the plants 1 or 2 times a week! Salad mix unbelievably the same! Customer Service has been REMARKABLE in answering questions or needs I may have had. I feel very confident, safe and am enjoying HEALTHY tasting and looking results. Quality product!Moving up the gardening ladder to growing Romaine lettuce next. Tomatoes may follow. Asked for this at Christmas and bought one myself the following month.FYI: The skeptic in me bought herb seeds, planted in terra cotta pots along side the aerogardens to compare the difference. Results were: weak, slow growing, high maintenance unrewarding results even with plant food. Fluctuations strong if not attended to daily. After 3 months they have still not reached height nor sturdiness of aerogarden plants in just a few weeks. Hope this helps.

I have been trying to grow vegetables in Virginia Beach for 24 years and never succeeding. Between the squirrils, rabbits and weather, I was never able to eat enough out of the garden to make it worth the time and effort. My AeroGarden 6 Elite+ has been a pleasure to own. Watching the Mega Cherry Tomatoes growing has been a treat. I look forward to seeing how much the plants and tomatoes have grown overnight. They take about a bottle of water daily... We decided on a Wall Garden in our dining room that is visible when you walk in our front door. We use the 2 shelf method on the wall growing herbs in my first AeroGarden 7 Classic on the bottom shelf which was the begining of my indoor gardening. Looking forward to tasting the fruit.

I got this AeroGarden for my husband for Christmas so he could grow cherry tomatoes. It is now March and the plants are covered in blossoms and new tomatoes. The yellow tomatoes are doing the best. An added benefit: The planter gives my kitchen a ray of sunshine on gloomy winter days. Now I need my own for a winter herb garden.

The comparison of fresh herb flavor versus dried and/or bottled herbs in preparing any dish cannot be overstated enough. Just try comparing the smell of a live rose to an aerosal rose spray - it's the same with fresh versus bottled herbs.

This is our 3rd winter in the mountains of NC. We used to live in CA where it was summer year 'round. This winter has been especially bad - our first snow came in October and we've had 7 snowstorms since. We bought ourselves an Aerogarden 6 Elite with tomato plants for Christmas. First off, the Aerogarden light really makes you feel good, even on the darkest snowy days. Our tomatoes are so strong and sturdy ... they are healthier than any I've grown outdoors. We were so happy, we just bought two Aerogarden 3s - a flower garden for my husband's granny having her own rough winter in an assisted living facility in Nebraska and a lavendar garden for my step-mom in Florida. As another reviewer noted, it's about the same cost to send a nice flower arrangement but the Aerogarden is soooo much better!

Received my AeroGarden as an early Christmas present from my Mom. I cook with fresh herbs all the time and love having them available in my AeroGarden. I am very pleased with this product so far. I also love to garden! Just ordered a seed starter for it so I'll let you know how that goes. It's critical to desert gardening to be able to start seeds successfully indoors for a number of plants. Windowsills are too cold in the great icebox of the north to get herbs to grow. This system has "foolproof" written all over it - and, hey, I thought - thats for me!! This had Basil sprouted in 24 hrs and now on day 8 everything is GROWING except the dill, which has not yet sprouted. The chives nearly sprang up from germinated to 3" high in a 36 hours! Super easy to set up and it does it all itself. This model has more "idiot" lights on it than the space saver so I opted for this one and just love it. We are excited to see how fast things grow and can't wait to be able to eat our fresh herbs. I want one for my office now!

Only had it since Christmas and have started cherry tomaotes first. The room where it sits needs to be very warm! We keep our home cooler than 80 degrees, so I had to put a blanket over the hood and sides so the heat stays in. I planted the tomatoes and it took almost 2 weeks to sprout. Once I added the blanket cover, the plants took off. Maybe they will design a cover for it so everyone can take advantage of this....

Got this for Christmas and it is great! Set it up that day and I already have sprouts growing. Would recommend it to anyone who likes fresh veggies and herbs. I can't help myself from checking on my little sprouts throughout the day, as if they will grow faster. LOL But it is really a cool gadget and will be used thoroughly.

I'm not using my herbs for cooking at the present time but I make a plaque in which I need impressions of leaves and such in a product I make.

Living in an area where greens are frosted off after September 15th and spring doesn't return until June ... I'd have to resort to buying herbs each week from the grocer, or what ever I can make do. This works great plus it's fun watching the plants grow. Doing much better than I thought they would.

It's also created an egolical system in that we have these little ladybug like bugs that were planted in our area to take care of another not so nice bug however a few have found their way into my home this fall as is the norm ... and guess what they like ... the Aerogrow garden too! That I don't appreciate to much, so they are captured and released again outside since they are a good bug!

Over all I LOVE IT! Plan on getting a flower garden next and also a gift for my grandchilden who are into growing things big time. This will be great for them.

I had no problem setting the garden up. Didn't even need to use the instruction booklet! I like how it fits on my bookshelves, neat and bright and fits my home theme. The light it gives also nourishes any other plants and herbs I already had growing, which is great in Alaska during the winter. Lack of light makes it hard to have great herbs for cooking. Saves a lot of money when you can grow your own stuff at a quick rate too!
