I've been teaching for 30+ years and I have truly felt that each year my students are becoming more and more distant from their food source. Agriculture,technology,(hydroponics)& science play a part in this process.I summited this idea to a "Mac Grant" and received it for my classroom. We have been growing lettuce since the beginning of this year. How wonderful to smell the tomatoes & basil in the darkest days of winter. I used a Master Gardener set and pushed the limits, hence the "difficult to setup" rating. The peppers are slower to start and there's some uneven growth as a result, but, it's still so worth it. I bought 3 more (who can resist this SALE) [...] it's still cheaper than purchase locally. I even bought one each for my mom & sister [...] They're sure to love it, too.

It was the easiest, cleanest, fastest gardening I have ever done. What a fabulous way to enjoy pre-spring gardening, without the mess inside the house. My wife got me one for Christmas, and aslo our two grown children. I was a little skeptical when we first set it up as I had never grown anything "hydroponically". We were pleasantly surprised when the basil raised it's head in about 4 days. We were concerned about the dill after 12 days....but here it comes!

Our grandchildren love to watch theirs grow every day. It is a great teaching tool, and no mess.

After the herbs, we plan to experiment with vegetables, and flowers. We will "test it to the limits"!

I got this aerogarden just over a year ago and just ordered another one. I also have an areogarden 3 and I have given an aerogarden as a gift.

I used the master garden kit to grow cherry tomato and bell pepper seeds I had purchased from a seed company. The plants grew quickly; more quickly than when I had grown seedlings on a heating pad the year before. They were healthy and produced a lot of fruit. The aerogarden came with instructions on how to tend to different vegetable plants that were easy to follow. When the pepper plant was too big I transplanted it to the backyard in the summer and it did fine.

It only took a few seconds a day of maintenance (adding fertilizer or water, pruning plants, picking fruit) and it's pretty much foolproof. I bought the aerogarden pepper seed kit, and I'll see how that is compared to the seeds I had.

Last year I used my original garden for Herbs. Then I saw my neighbors outdoor garden with these huge tomatoe plants, and she let me know she started all her crops with the aerogarden. I immediately invested in the tall garden. Presently I'm watching my plants meant for in doors growing daily. It's fun to see the progress in just a few hours. I keep my garden in my home office, and I sometimes watch it more than paying my bills.

Never had any problems. Received this last spring, opened the box, followed easy instructions and it was up and running in no time. Broke a bulb in setting up and customer service was right on it and had a new one within a few days.We had alot of fun watching our plants virtually grow in front of our eyes. Transplanted the first batch outside and planted more in the AeroGarden because it was really that fun to watch.

My husband got a cold-frame greenhouse for free and dragged it home. A year and a half later, we put it together, and I've been obsessed with gardening ever since. Although I've only been making attempts for a short time, I get sad in the winter when I can only watch the onions and garlic grow and the asparagus die in the garden. Not only does this give me the opportunity to have a producing garden in the winter, but the garden-starter kit solves a lot of logistics issues with seed starting for the spring, as we do not have a lot of space, and grow exclusively from seed. I am trepidatious about how transplanting to soil will work out, but based on everything I've read, and the experience of successfully transplanting cuttings into soil, I am extremely optimistic. As everyone does, I hate the high price of the bulbs and kits, but love the product so much, that I know I'm suckered in. One piece of advice I would offer to any grower of veggies or herbs would be to set up a small, low output fan on a timer, to give your plants necessary circulation and to strengthen their stems.

I love flowers, especially in the winter, when it is gray and cold outside. I grow flowers in two of my Aerogardens. Not only are they pretty, but I can add the flowers to salads or other dishes to brighten them while dreaming of spring.
The flowers sprout and grow so fast that I have fresh flowers within weeks of planting. My husband likes the fact there isn't a mess of dirt, or water. I can travel with him, leaving my Aerogardens to grow. I have a friend add water when I have plants full sized, nothing else needs to be done.

Very good at starting and growing of several varieties of exotic hot peppers from seed. I would recommend the use of a simple ph meter as the supplied nutrients don't control if not using distilled water.

I have five aerogardens...the Pro 100 with Cherry tomatoes, the Pro 200 with Heirloom Tomatoes, the 3 pod with flowers, A 7 pod with lettuce and the Kitchen Gardener with herbs. After owning 2 Aergardens for a couple of years, I just knew I had to have the deluxe to grow my favorite "Tomato berry". I found out the standard arms just don't do it for growing the larger plants.
I am never going to try to grow herbs again in my shady forest. Aergarden is the only way to go. My husband is amazed that I actually bought something off a tv ad that actually does what it says. Actually, I have only had to change bulbs in the first two with no other malfunctioning parts. My one disappointment is that the deluxe only comes in white and my other 2 are black.

I love my AeroGarden Deluxe with its great trellis system. I received the Master Garden Seed kit, and planted my own tomato seeds and the plants are growing almost twice as fast as my ones that are outdoors in soil. The trellis system is great at supporting the plants. I have the plants in my exercise room and have the added benefit of watching their daily growth. Great fun!

If I can't use the herbs right away, it is just as easy to cut them, dry them, and freeze them for later use. I am looking into the seed starter tray to get plants going for the big garedn this summer. In a climate like Montana's, growing can be very touchy because you never know when it's going to snow. Starting inside early is imperative.

I was raised always having a vegetable garden around. Now that I live in an appartment in the city I miss the luxury of having freshly picked herbs and vegetables. I go to the local wholistic stores and farmers markets to get vegetables and such but it is not the same. There is something about picking a tomato off of its vine, slicing it up, and 1 minute later eating it in a sandwich with fresh lettuce. Once I moved to downtown San Diego I thought I would never be able to experience that again, at least untill I move out of the city. I Bought the aerogarden somewhat sceptical thinking that the vegetables would not taste the same as the ones that we grew in the sun, in our back yard when I was a kid. I am so glad I was wrong. I notice no difference from outdoor veggies and am glad to say the ones I grow in my aerogarden taste a great deal better than the ones from the farmers market. Plus knowing that I grew the plant from seed adds a taste of accomplishment to my food as well. If that wasn't enough It is the most interesting piece of home decor I have ever had. It is the first thing everyone comments on when they enter my home. So not only great on the plate, but a conversation starter as well.

We received our Aerogarden as a gift and what a wonderful gift it makes! Living in an apartment in Los Angeles, we aren't able to grow plants outside, so the Aerogarden is the perfect solution.

The herbs grow fast, incredibly abundant and require little maintenance, while the green beans take a little longer and a little more care. The tomatoes, however, never grew for us, and it might just be b/c we didn't tend to them as needed. Next up will be the herbs again b/c those were fantastic!!

I definitely recommend Aerogarden to anyone, from the casual cook to the gourmet chef! Just mind the food you're growing and maintain it accordingly.

I am a "Gourmet Foodie" and I absolutely LOVE my Aero Grow! With only my husband and I in the house, too many vegetables go bad when bought from the store before I can use them. Wonderful system..already harvesting lettuce planted 3 weeks ago. Basil, chives, tomatoes, and lettuce are all growing very well. The only dissappointment has been the beans-all have rotted before germinating.

I've seen the commercials for these for a long time but finally received mine just before Christmas this past year. I set it up on December 13th and by today (January 16th) I've already harvested from five of the herbs on a regular basis.

I ordered the Custom Herb Kit with the Genovese Basil, Italian Parsley, Lemon Basil, Chives, Sage, Oregano, and Cilantro. The Sage didn't germinate but the customer service was quick to submit a replacement order. I received the replacement pod yesterday.

So far my only gripe is that I now have to keep all six other herbs very pruned so I can keep the light at the lowest setting until the Sage catches up with the others. If I don't, they quickly grow into the lights and the leaves burn. But if that seed pod had germinated, I would easily be at the second setting for the light.

Oh, and I wish my kitchen was larger so I could get another one!

Bought my first one to grow lettuce. I dislike store bought food. It was very easy, but... we happen to own a Bearded Dragon Lizard who also loves lettuce, so we had to get him his own! Then my husband decides he wants some hot peppers and tomatoes, which left me without one of my own to experiment with, so we are up to four now and may get some more!

I do want to mention that I had fed store bought greens to the crickets (lizard food) and it killed all of them. I think it was the pesticides, so now everyone gets counter, home grown lettuce at our house!

I would say the best thing about these gardens is that they got me back into gardening (outdoor) as well. Have converted a front room into a winter grow area and have now got my greenhouse going too!

The only downside is that the nutrient tablets supplied with the Master Gardener kit didn't include the sprouting nutrients, whichh worked well for me with my original Aerogrow. It's possible to overdo the nutrients too easily.

My husband and I received this unit as a Christmas gift from our son, an avid environmentalist. I love how easy and fuss free it is - matches my life style. We had so many herbs that I freeze-dried some; I love the incredible scent when trimming the herbs - yummy. Perhaps some hints on what to do with the extraordinary amount of harvest would be great? I use this to raise my geraniums from cuttings to flowering size. Works great! It gives me the right amount of light and I love how it reminds me about the need for water, solution changing ect. It also is a good height for my geraniums.

I love the fact that it was very easy to use and not messy at all. My husband bought me this for Christmas and I received the herbs with this. The herbs grew really fast and I was very impressed! I just got my aerogarden and overall I love it. It's easy to set up and use. I wanted to grow full size tomatoes and since there is no premade seed kit I had to use the master gardner kit. I planted 2 tomato pods and 1 jalapeno. My tomatoes took of and grew rapidly once they sprouted and the jalapeno came along quite a bit slower. The tomatoes grew so fast that they began to fall over because they were too big and heavy. I tried to straighten them by tying them to the grow arm but then they'd fall over the other direction. I finally got some stiff plant training wires that held them upright and it worked out ok. I never did get the tomato plants to flower. I had to keep trimming them to keep them from hitting the lights. Perhaps I bought the wrong variety? So I eventually gave up on the tomatoes and left just the jalapenos to grow. I finally got flowers after about 2 months of growning and couldn't figure out how to polinate them. The book that came with the master gardner kit said to shake the plant. This never worked for me I had to take a q-tip and individually polinate each flower. I finally had jalapenos and am waiting for them to ripen so I can enjoy them. The best part about the aerogarden is it's fun to watch your plants grow. It's excting when you get your first sprouts, as your plant reaches new heights, begins to flower and then fruit. I find I'm always looking to see if I have new jalapenos growing. I'm sure I'll get the pollination thing figured out eventually and will keep experimenting with the tomatoes until I get it right. I plan to try strawberries too.

Our Grandmother loves gardening but was having a difficult time walking on the uneven ground and bending over to weed. She loves watching things grow so we thought this was the perfect solution. I have found that the unit performs a lot better
when it is thoroughly cleaned out every two weeks
making sure that all plant matter is removed especially in and around the pump area. In addition, the dead parts of the plant's root system can be removed from the plant without harming it. This subsequently makes for a healthier plant with increase growth.

This is seriously one of the best products out on the market. When a couple of my plants got too tall instead of cutting them down I planted them outside and now they are sprouting flowers on the basil. I/We use the three aerogardins to grow Roamine Tomatoes Basil and all other products which we can obtain seed pods for. We love this product! My sons also borrowed them (they love to cook also and one is a chef) They now want to buy their own (but I said no) It will make a great Christmas present It has also proven to be a great conversation piece and we do a great job marketing it! I received my herb AeroGarden as a birthday gift from my son on my 74th birthday. It was an unusual gift and I was surprised receiving it. It turned out to be one of the nicest gifts I have ever received. In addition to having fresh herbs to season my food, I enjoy having my own small green garden to look at that brings me a little something of outside nature right into my kitchen. I have always had gardens through the years and now at my age, when I can no longer work outside, I still have the fun of a miniature garden I can take care of with ease. I love my AeroGarden because it shows my friends how easy products grow,it gives my wife Roses,and its so refreshing when the temperature is at 60 below in the Alaskan winter.Our winters are extremely cold but with my garden kit we can get fresh lettuce and other products in only a few weeks. Several of friends have purchased the AeroGarden and products and I hope to purchase two more gardens soon.

I first saw the aerogarden on TV and was fascinated by what it could do. Since I am a lover of salads and like to serve salads to my family as well, I felt this would be a great way of providing fresh greens to them. I am also very weary and careful about the use of pesticides and other chemicals that are in our fruits and vegetables and knew that if I grew them there wouldn't be any of this. I found a great deal on [...] and bought it for a Christmas present for the family and I have never regretted my decision.I have the Aerogarden Pro 100 and have grown herbs and salad greens so far. Each gave me months of salads and herbs. Yesterday I started my tomatoe garden and will see what happens. Tomatoes take more work since they have to be pollinated to produce fruit. We'll see what happens.But all in all, the Aerogarden is a wonderful product and reaps what the makers claim and then some. I would highly recommend the Aerogarden to anyone interested in having fresh home grown produce and even flowers, especially in the winter months.The only thing that went wrong was the cilantro that was in the herb garden. I called Aerogarden, spoke with the nice customer service representatives and they told me they were having problems with that herb. They sent me my choice of a replacement.So if you have any doubts, DO NOT, its a great product for you, your family and makes a wonderful gift.

I purchased our first AeroGarden as a Birthday gift for my Wife, shortly after they came on the market. She loved it so much that we purchased one for each of my Daughters and my Brother in Laws Family at Christmas. Probably one of the best received gift ever given. Later on several additional units were purchased by my Daughters. All units are in use. We are on our 5th. Starter Kit. Since we obtained our first unit I put fresh Herbs in everything I cook- Eggs, Roasts, Burgers, Soups,and nearly anything else you can imagine. Several Friends have purchased units on our recommendation and after seeing our success with AeroGrow. We live in a Condo with a small Kitchen, but space is no problem at all. Our unit also doubles as a fantastic Night Light for the kitchen and hall. The ease with which plants grow is amazing. I had hoped a product like this would come along- Thank Heavens it did.

I love my Aerogarden Deluxe! I started with a classic but the extra height of the deluxe really makes a difference. Now I can grow full-size tomatoes, peppers, and all kinds of other vegetables I wouldn't have been able grow to in my classic. I am looking forward to fresh vegetables all winter long. I just finished growing Early Girl tomatoes and Hot Cherry Peppers. I had plentiful and continuous harvests from both. This product is so easy to use... just add water! :) If you want to grow full-size vegetable plants, the deluxe is the aerogarden for you!

I only purchased the starter kit for herbs. I was so sure that I would be sending product back and did not want to invest too much money. To say that I am extremely satisfied with my AeroGrow, is an extreme understatement. I plan on expanding my indoor table top gardens to other rooms in the house. Some for food and some for flowering plants. Will recommend this unit to all my friends and family.

This is a must for busy traveling professionals. I travel 80% of my work schedule, and miss having a garden. This system allows me to have all the benefits of a garden (fresh herbs, salad greens, etc) without the constant maintenance of an outdoor garden. I have had my original system for over a year and I love it. I am actually buy 2 more so I can have an aerogrow garden. This is also great for seed starting or for propagating your house plants.

I work a split shift,morning and evening, so when the weekend rolls around I just want to veg around the house. The weekend is my time to stop and have a sit down meal enhanced by some fresh herbs that are right at my fingertips. I don't have to spend my weekend gardening (ie fighting the weeds) but rather enjoying tasty fresh herbs, lettuce, and tomatoes from my Aerogarden. Nor do I have to make another trip to the market for super fresh lettuce. It's right here. It's the weekend. A time to come together with family and my Aerogarden.

I bought the AeroGarden as a gift for a friend who is a gourmet cook. My considerations were a small apartment in the city with limited day light. AeroGarden proved to be a"perfect" solution to having fresh herbs in a region with changing seasons. Imagine, having fresh basil, rosemary, thyme and parsely all year round. The fresh herbs brought an enthusiastic response.
They could be picked each day for the mouthwatering dishes to be cooked. There is no waste. With AeroGarden you use what you need. You don'tt need a green thum.

We have grown salads for fresh eating in the winter, and now herbs, I also used it to start flower seedlings then transplanted them in my flower beds this spring. This is my first time using my aerogarden and since it is summer and we get lots of free tomatoes and cukes from family I decided to plant lettuce. It grew exactly at described, we were using it on sandwiches within three weeks. I love it!! No worries about junk in the food or weeding... yeah!!! I'm very excited about having fresh produce all year round. My favorite part is that my 5 year old son would never eat lettuce but since he was so excited about seeing it grow and all he eats it too!! If this will get him eating cukes and tomatoes etc it's worth every penny!!! I haven't found anything I don't like about it.

My husband and I purchased two black 7-pod units from Macy's in Feb. of this year. We liked it so much we went back a few weeks later to buy one more unit. We now proudly own 3 Aerogardens. I am personally excited and happy to have this product because I am a breast cancer survivor and it enables me to eat healthier, home-grown vegetables and herbs. I am concerned about what I put in my body and I know that the herbs and vegetables grown in my Areogardens are the finest available with no chemicals! I wish I had more space on my counters, as I would purchase one more unit to grow the flowers that are now available. And a plus is that we can garden anytime of the year including Wintertime.

I watch many of the Food Network shows and try out a lot of their recipes. This allows me to have fresh herbs to use just like they do. You only use what you need and not have the problem of buying a whole bunch of cilantro that goes to waste when you only need 2 tablespoons. It also makes a great night light in the evening. Mine seemed to be timed perfectly for our home. My niece liked ours so much her husband bought one for her birthday. He's in the food industry and does most of the cooking.

We have one Aero Garden and I still have basil plants taken from the cuttings of the Aero garden started in January 2008. The plants have been very healthy and an inexpensive hostess gift.

I am planning on starting a tomato Aero garden, in addition to, my herb garden when the summer vegetable garden is history. I love that I can garden during the dead of winter now!

My husband and I have purchased a flower Aero garden for his elderly mom and a tomato garden for my brother and sister-in-law, who have limited space to garden. We think it is a great product!

This is my third aerogrow. Besides growing beautiful and obviously useful plants, it adds a feelings of usefulness and purpose, along with a small sense of accomplishment to my day. Left to my own devises I don't generally succeed in gardening. It is wonderful to see such blooming and growth so quickly and for such a period of time. Really enjoying the whole process.

Works great starting seeds and getting plants growing. Tried to grow full size tomatoes, but there is no way to support the plants since the roots are only in the sponges, tried tying to arms then plants are to close together and its a problem when raising.
