I haven't used the herbs yet because after a month of waiting only 3 have sprouted. I followed the directions closely and nothing. I have had my aero grow garden for a while and the plants I purchased previously also had about a 65% growth rate. I do think this can work but how to get them all to grow, back to the drawing board.

I was disappointed that the chives never grew The savory grew but then never took off. Had to throw it out. The basil and mint are growing excellent. I have already used them many times and am harvesting the oregano They are the only three remaining that are healthy.

When plants start to outgrow their space, I harvest everything that needs trimming, add walnuts or pine nuts, some garlic, and olive oil, and make Pesto. The recipes create themselves.

I like the herbs, they grow quickly and I love being able to use fresh herbs in my food. I like the variety of things you can grow as well as how little the maintanence is on the garden itself. LOVE the Aerogrow unit, the convenience, the cleanliness of this type of gardening, the variety. However, I had 2 pots of bad seeds that never germinated in this package. Issue was taken care of quickly through customer service.

Great product! Everything is growing rapidly, except the garlic. It did not sprout at all, so I had to through it away and use some of my own lettuce seeds to replace it. Other than that, I love it, and am thinking of buying another one.

It is great to have fresh herbs for cooking and salads - just pinch off a leaf and you are ready to go-I have grown many things in my Aero garden and by far the Italian herbs have been the best. My husband who is the avid chef in my household agrees this is the best planting by far.

To start with the bad the Garlic chives were very poor sprouters, there were 3 sprouts in it total. It was very disapoinitnig when the parsley started crowding it and they died.

The oregano, Savory and thyme sprouted fast and did fairly well. The basil as had been noted in the directions did very well even under, at times, daily use.

As for the best... I have tried to grow parsley many, many time before it always involed nearly a month before a sprout would be seen. So imagine my shock after 5 days to find not 1, but 3 had sprouted up far enough to be seen threw the grow cap! Absoultely amazing!
As a final note both the parlsey and basil would do very well in a tall garden instead of the regular one I have

This is a great variety pack with all useful herbs. All sprouted well. My only complaint is that the basil seems to grow much faster than all the other plants and you have to constantly trim to keep it from overshadowing. I've had this problem in other kits too.

I've grown two Italian Herb Seed kits; each lasted longer than the six-month projected growing season. I barely had to lift a finger and quickly found myself overflowing with fresh mint and parsley, not to mention fistfuls of the other included herbs.

Since you're growing the herbs yourself, the mint, savory, oregano and thyme are the coveted "baby" varieties, meaning you don't need to strip the leaves off the stems; they're soft and tender enough to use in their entirety. This is something you'd have a very hard time replicating from a grocer or even from a farmer's market. It makes cooking and prep time easier and provides a wonderfully soft herb flavor it's hard to replicate otherwise.

I was not to sure when I bought the areogarden, But OMG it is amazing. My basil is 4 weeks old and it is about 10 inches tall. I can snip and use. My savory never came up but I had some Thai basil rooting in water, YES basil will root itself in water. I added the Thai Basil into the pod, and low and behold, I now have Thai basil about 6 inches tall. I wish I would of bought this along time ago. With the price of store herbs, it won't take that long to pay for it. My daughter loves it to, she just calls to see if I have anything she needs and she picks it up.

This is my third AeroGarden planting. I loved the Classic Herbs and Salad Mix. In just 2 weeks my Italian Herbs are all doing well. It is so fun to watch all the varieties emerge. I can't wait to start using them. It is so handy to snip off what I need. I find myself using many more herbs when I don't have to go out and buy them, usually throwing half of them away. The only thing that would make it better is if I could choose my own mixture. There are ones I don't use much and others I wish I had more. This is my second season for the Italian herb garden. The herbs I grew last year were wonderful and I used them all the time. It's so handy to have what you need when you need it! My only complaint is that they took out the cilantro and added savory. Cilantro is more useful to me and I was disappointed about that. Otherwise, it's a great product.

I love fresh herbs and I live in an area where I have to drive several (at least 50) miles to get fresh herbs. Now I have them whenever I want. They taste great and really add something special to my cooking. Thanksgiving is coming and last year I used all the fresh herbs from my aero garden and my meal was great. The difference from store purchased herbs and the AeroGrow garden herbs are unbelievable. The big flavors that come from the AeroGrow were such a bid surprised. I own and operate two businesses which limits my time to be able to raise and care for fresh herbs. I do enjoy cooking though, and often would buy my herbs at the grocery store. This is expensive and often the herbs will start to go off soon after purchase. The aerogrow herbs are very low maintenance, always fresh, and can be raised at any time of the year. In time, I expect I will cover the cost of the device in what I've saved over buying the herbs at the store.

I have a large vegetable garden but herbs never seem to do very well. This is the best solution. I am not a chef but I do love to cook. Having these herbs on hand help me add a lot of flavor without having to run out and buy fresh herbs. I really do love this product.
