Comments about AeroGrow Japanese Herb Seed Kit (7-Pod):
I tried this kit because we love Shiso so much! We especially enjoyed Green Shiso. But Nira Chives was a little dissapointment. It was so thin and little that I could not harvest enough to use in gyoza dumplings and such. As it is not easy to find fresh Japanese herbs in the states, I think this kit is great for those who want to cook Japanese food at home.

Comments about AeroGrow Japanese Herb Seed Kit (7-Pod):
It's a shame if you decide not to try this kit just because you don't do any Japanese cooking. These are wonderful herbs and can be used in so many ways. I would have given 5 stars if the red shiso had sprouted according to schedule. I thought it was a "dud" but left it in there and it finally sprouted about 3 weeks after the longest expected sprout date. The green shiso is my favorite and I wouldn't mind having two of those instead. This kit would be perfect if it included kaiware daikon sprouts.

Comments about AeroGrow Japanese Herb Seed Kit (7-Pod):
These were herbs I had never heard of or used before. Each green was unique but could be used either solo or in combination with all others. The booklet only gave a few ideas, so at first I wasn't really sure what to do with them. After using them once or twice, I found them quite versatile and delicious, especially sauteed with garden vegetables, rice or pasta and protein or your choice. They are also delicious mixed in with ordinary garden greens. Unfortunately the Red Shiso did not sprout. When re-ordered, it too failed to sprout.
