I'm currently growing a batch of very healthy alpine strawberries that I plan to pop in the garden in a couple of weeks. All my starts have thrived after transplanting. My summer and fall were full of fresh basil, romaine, tomatillos, sorrel, sage...the list goes on and on. Everything I've planted using these plugs, nutrients and my aerogarden have been successful. A little pricey, but compared to buying the number of plants that I've grown from seed since I got my aerogrow...doesn't seem so bad. I really had to struggle to find a statement of improvement. Overall, I'm delighted.

I like trying my own seeds and I cant believe my eyes on what I see. Right now it is 29 out side and in side I am growning Red an Green Bell Peppers I have 14 on them, and they are 32 day into them . But they are babys. An on my other Pro 200 I have Poblano Chilis. You just would not believe this They have just started and will take a few more weeks then the peppers will I have one on them.

Now I can buy seeds and create my own special mix of herbs and flowers. When I can't find an herb that I like in the pre-packaged sets, I simply buy the seeds from the store and create my own pod. The fresh herbs are soooo wonderful and really make a differnce in my cooking.

Once I learned that in my area using distilled water produced the most optimal growing conditions, I found so many uses for this. Not only do I have the beauty and conveinience of Quality Herbs right at my finger tip. I found I could customize my "crops" to fit my wants. After the plants seemed to stop thriving inside, I then transplanted them outside. Now only a few of these did this. And with the now empty sponge (I split them to get the old plants out), I replaced what ever seeds I wanted. I now have a birdhouse gourd, sensitive plant and Lavendar Plants starting alongside with my ever thriving Basils. I love my Aero Garden, [...]

I use the sponges to grow my own herbs. The herbal set no longer includes corriander,so I use my own seeds. I wish the fresh grow sponges came with fresh sponge holder baskets, so I could start completely fresh.

Used them to plant my own leaf lettuce and dwarf green pepper seeds. Didn't bother with glue even though the lettuce seeds are tiny. All have come up and are producing.

Absolutely great for rooting seeds or clippings. Just wish replacement sponges were cheaper as roots grow through sponge rendering them one time use only. Reservoir can get a little warm with longer light cycles, but overall a perfect starter kit. Built in timers a plus.

Increases the range of uses of the Aerogarden. Haven't tried it with seeds yet, but I replaced the mint from an herb kit with a series of tomato cuttings from my outdoor plant. They root quickly in the Aerogarden and transplant well back in soil to hopefully have cherry tomatoes through fall. Works perfectly so far!

In conversation with Customer Service, I learned something today. In my original seed kit, two plants did not germinate within two weeks. So I cleaned out the sponges and used my own seeds, which are doing great. CS told me that the seeds in the intial kits that go out are cemented in the sponges with rice glue - which explains why they were so difficult to remove when I cleaned them out to use with my own seeds. I hadn't even thought of the roots growing through the sponges until I read other reviews here - of course they do. So I wouldn't be able to reuse any successfully grown sponges.That said, re-using the pods with my own seeds is a wonderful option. Just have to be sure I stick 'em WAY down deep.BTW - I also learned that the reason AG discontinued the cilantro was that the rice glue tended to seal the large seeds shut. When I used my own seeds, unglued, they sprouted just fine.

These little sponges are terriffic! Just place the seeds inside, use a little white glue for very tiny seeds. The instructiones explain clearly how to decide on the planting depth. Pop the sponges into the break apart baskets and ready, set, GROW! Very convenient for growing your personal choices. Try them, you won't be sorry.

Finally. The part that they needed to make available! Just remember to keep a set of the plastic growplugs to put these in them. Or they are of no use. You cant buy just the growplugs alone ....yet. Work perfectly and can plant anything YOU want in them.

This was needed for the kit, since the plastic parts are reusable, and the only thing that gets torn up by the plants was the sponges. Thanks for making these available.

The refill pack allows you to grow veggies that aerogarden doesn't offer with the growing kits. Just be sure you clean out the unit if you just finished growing something else before you swap out the refill pack.

This is as easy as a replacement part gets . Remove the old plant, clean cage and replace with master gardener refill in cleaned cage with your choice of seeds and start a great new garden.
